Build a Traffic Light

Materials

  • Arduino Uno (With Software on a Computer or a Laptop)
  • Breadboard
  • 3 – LEDs (One Red, One Yellow, One Green)
  • 3 – 330 Ohm Resistor
  • Jumper Wires

Procedure

  1. Place one wire at the negative rail and on the Ground Pin on the Arduino.
  2. Place one wire at A5 and on Digital Pin 13 on the Arduino.
  3. Connect an LED from E5 (anode) to E7 (cathode).
  4. Connect a 330 ohm resistor from A7 to the negative rail.
  5. Place one wire at A13 and on Digital Pin 12 on the Arduino.
  6. Connect an LED from E13 (anode) to E15 (cathode).
  7. Connect a 330 ohm resistor from A15 to the negative rail.
  8. Place one wire at A21 and on Digital Pin 13 on the Arduino.
  9. Connect an LED from E19 (anode) to E21 (cathode).
  10. Connect a 330 ohm resistor from A21 to the negative rail.
  11. Connect the power cord to the Arduino and upload the code.

** Be sure to remember POWER RAILS CONNECT VERTICALLY and THE MIDDLE SECTIONS (A-E or F-J) ARE CONNECTED HORIZONTALLY**
